The Ceremony of Lighting Candles under the Fragment of the Ghetto Wall
On November 16 at 1:00 p.m. began the official commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the closing of the Warsaw Ghetto borders.
On the 81st anniversary of the closing of the Warsaw Ghetto borders there was a ceremony of lighting candles at the fragment of the ghetto wall 53 Sienna Street, attended by representatives of state and local authorities, cultural institutions and the Jewish community, including: Deputy President of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Małgorzata Gosiewska, Minister Adam Niemczewski, Minister Jarosław Wenderlich, Chief Rabbi of Poland Michael Schudrich, Rabbi Chabad-Lubawicz Szalom Dow-Ber Stambler, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Israel in Poland Irit Yakhnes, Mayor of the Śródmieście district of the capital Warsaw Aleksander Ferens, Deputy Mayors of the Wola district: Grażyna Orzechowska-Mikulska and Wojciech Lesiuk, Director of the Chancellery of the Marshal of Mazovia Voivodeship Magdalena Flis, Director XII Henryk Sienkiewicz High School Elżbieta Wysmołek and the hosts of the event: Chairman of TSKŻ Artur Hoffman, Director of MGW Albert Stankowski.
