Discover underground Muranów

invitation for archeological site

Starting June 24, we’re launching the summer season at the archaeological site of the former Miła 18!

Our site will be open to the public every weekend from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. until 28 September this year. No registration is required for visits.

In addition to the archaeological site, our latest outdoor exhibition, ‘Miła’, will be available to visitors. Details will be announced soon. We will also provide audio guides in a few languages.

We will also provide audio guides in a few languages.

Let us remind you that during archaeological work in the summer of 2022, in the immediate vicinity of the so-called Anielewicz Bunker, researchers reached the buried cellars of 19th-century tenement houses, which were destroyed during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising or after its end. The cellars of tenement houses with double addresses, Miła 18/Muranowska 39 and Miła 20/Muranowska 41, were excavated. In the cellar of the tenement house at Muranowska 41, fragments of a structure were uncovered, which probably formed part of the so-called Anielewicz Bunker. Researchers found several thousand artefacts at the site, including religious objects such as tefillin, fragments of Jewish prayer books and vessels for ritual hand washing.

Educators on duty at the site will talk about the archaeological research and the history of the Warsaw ghetto.

See you there!
