Commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising
On August 1, 1944, the largest military uprising against the Nazis broke out in occupied Europe. To mark the 77th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, a wreath-laying ceremony and interfaith prayer were held at the Wola Uprising Cemetery, next to the burial mound containing the ashes of over 50,000 fallen residents of the capital. Rabbi Yehoshua Ellis laid the wreath on behalf of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum.
