Archaeological site open till the end of October!

The archaeological site at the former Miła 18 will be open till the end of October. You can visit the site from Friday to Sunday between 11AM and 3PM.

During archaeological work in the summer of 2022 in the neighbourhood of the so-called Bunker Anielewicz, the cellars of two 19th-century tenements were uncovered. Fragments of a structure were discovered there, which probably formed part of the so-called Anielewicz Bunker.

Researchers found several thousand artefacts at the site of the ongoing work, including religious objects such as tefillin, fragments of Jewish prayer books and vessels for ritual hand washing. The excavation area on the former Miła Street is the only place in the space of contemporary Warsaw that allows one to really get close to a city that no longer exists and to see that large fragments of it are still under the feet of its inhabitants. How do we preserve and commemorate this place, linking the past with the future?
