10th Remembrance Days

The Social and Cultural Association of Jews in Poland, the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Lodz, the Marshal’s Office of the Lodz Province and the Warsaw Ghetto Museum have the pleasure to invite you to the Lodz celebrations of the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.

During the celebrations, scheduled for 27 January – 3 February 2020, the WGM education department will conduct workshops for schools. They will take place at the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Lodz and at the Bałuty Community Centre.

Celebration agenda below:

27 January – at 12.00 a.m. – solemn laying of flowers at the Radegast station (Avenue of Remembrance for the Victims of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto 12), 6:00 p.m. –The last stage. 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, historical introduction by Adam Sitarek and projection of the film „The Last Stage”, dir. by W. Jakubowska, 1947, the Marek Edelman Dialogue Center in Lodz.

29 January – at 06:00 p.m. – solemn opening of the 10th Remembrance Days and an inaugural „Yiddish Tango” concert by Olga Avigail & Tango Attack, the Big Stage of the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Lodz.

30 January, at 5:00 p.m. – „Holocaust Remembrance – a Look in Poland, the World, and in Israel” – a discussion panel with the participation of invited guests and a special screening of the animated film” Egzekucja Pamięci” [”The Execution of Remembrance”], the Marek Edelman Dialogue Centre.

1 February, at 6:00 p.m. – spectacle ”Egzamin z zagłady” [”Holocaust Examination”] – a monodrama by Małgorzata Bańka, the Small Stage of the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Lodz.

2 February, at 12:00 a.m. ”Magiczny Medalion” [”The Magic Medallion”] – an interactive spectacle for children, Chamber Stage of the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Lodz, at 4.00 p.m. – screening of the film ”Falenicka Atlantyda” [„Falenica Atlantis”] and meeting with the director, the Marek Edelman Dialogue Centre in Lodz.

3 February, at 11.30 a.m. – workshops for schools run by the Warsaw Ghetto Museum at the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Lodz, at 1.00 p.m. – workshops for schools run by the Warsaw Ghetto Museum at the Bałuty Community Centre, at 6:00 p.m. – final gala of the 10th Remembrance Days – concert of the KROKE band, the Big Stage of the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Lodz.

26 January, at 6:00 p.m. – premiere, ticketed screening of the film ”Falenicka Atlantyda” [„Falenica Atlantis”], POLIN Museum, Warsaw.
