The Warsaw Ghetto Museum invites you to take a walk along the trail of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of April 1943. In the modern-day Muranów district, we'll visit the sites where the most important events of the uprising unfolded. We'll learn the stories of those who took up arms and those who resisted the German occupiers by hiding in improvised shelters within the ghetto. Based on period accounts and photographs, we'll attempt to reconstruct the most significant stages of the uprising, telling the story of the civilian population, and the tragic end of the ghetto's history. We'll visit, among other places, the brushmakers' shop, the Jewish Military Union redoubt on Muranów Square, and the last bunker of the Jewish Combat Organization at 18 Miła Street.
The walk will begin at the Jan Karski bench in Bohaterów Getta Square on Saturday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m. and end approximately 2:00 p.m. at the archaeological site of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum at Anielewicz Mound. The walk will be led by Katarzyna Jankowiak and Marcin Bartosiewicz from the Education Department of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum.
