March 2026 at the WGM construction site

March brought significant progress on the construction site – from the unveiling of the office building’s modern glazing, through the precise restoration of historic details of the hospital roof, to intensive interior finishing work.

March was marked primarily by intensive work on the facades of both new and historic buildings. With each passing week, more levels of scaffolding on the office and administration building are being removed, revealing newly constructed, impressive glazing. The results are already impressive.

Exceptionally demanding roofing and carpentry work is underway on the former hospital building. An elliptical roof finial is being constructed above the central, historic staircase. A team of carpenters and roofers is performing precise work using traditional construction techniques, also with due care to faithfully reproduce the features of the historic building. Copper sheeting is also being installed on the remaining roof surfaces of the hospital and the Ophthalmology building. On sunny days, the newly installed copper shimmers beautifully, giving the structures a unique character.

There's also a lot happening inside. With the installation work complete, additional finishing touches are being added, increasingly shaping the future atmosphere of these spaces.
