30 months of intensive work are behind us! April was marked by advanced finishing and installation work, which revealed the scale and complexity of the investment even more than before.
Hundreds of meters of installed cables, ducts, and installation components now constitute the "bloodstream" of the future facility. Simultaneously, tiling work was underway in the sanitary and hygiene areas. Installation of the interior GRC wall cladding is primarily focused on the ground floor—the entrance area—and on level -1 in the basement. The scaffolding visible in the stairwells signifies that we have entered the next stages of work, necessary for the installation of wall cladding and installation of installations.
At the same time, display cases and scenographic elements are being created. Each passing day brings us closer to the commencement of their assembly directly on the construction site. Preparations for the display cases' installation are progressing in parallel with finishing work in the former hospital building and in the underground section of the facility.
Implementation of the project "Renovation and expansion of the historic buildings of the former Bersohn and Bauman Children's Hospital at 60 Sienna Street/51 Śliska Street in Warsaw, along with their adaptation for exhibition and educational purposes, and the construction of a Media Library – part of the permanent exhibition of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum." The project is made possible thanks to funding from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027 (FEniKS) program. The amount of funding from the European Regional Development Fund is PLN 57,423,828.88. The total project value is PLN 323,879,688.83.
