On November 4, students of grade 7 of Primary School No. 127 in Praga Północ, together with Masza Makarowa from the Education Department of the Municipal Municipality of Warsaw, discovered traces of the Jewish past in their district.
They saw, among other things, the former Jewish Student Dormitory, the Jewish Community Educational Building, the mikveh building, and the site of the former synagogue. They also found traces of mezuzots in a courtyard on Ząbkowska Street that once hung on doorframes there.
This walk was an opportunity to talk about Jewish culture and tradition, the history of the Jews of Praga, their fate during World War II, and the multiculturalism of the Praga district of Warsaw.
