On November 4, the Warsaw Ghetto Museum had the honor of hosting a delegation from Sweden. The guests visited the excavation site at 2 Miła Street (formerly 18 Miła Street) and the building of the former Bersohn and Bauman Children's Hospital—the eventual headquarters of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum.
The delegation included: the Polish ambassador to Sweden Joanna Hofman , the director of the Swedish Holocaust Museum Katherine Hauptman , the journalist and chairman of the Swedish Committee against Antisemitism Willy Silberstein , the co-founder of the Lärbro Hospital Museum Jane Olsson , and the journalist, board member of the Swedish-Polish Association on Gotland and co-founder of the Lärbro Hospital Museum Clary Winberg.
Historian and archaeologist Dr. Jacek Konik from the Research Department of the WGM guided the delegation through the excavation site on Miła Street . Dr. Paweł Freus from the same department spoke about the courtyard and the Bersohn and Bauman Hospital building. The meeting was attended by WGM Director Albert Stankowski , Deputy Director Hanna Wróblewska , Head of the Exhibitions Department Dr. Katarzyna Nowakowska-Sito , and WGM Chief Historian Prof. Daniel Blatman.
The guests also visited the office of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum, where MGW specialists had the opportunity to present the concept of the permanent exhibition in more detail and talk about our museum's immediate plans.
