Hersh Berlinski (1908–1944)

An activist in Poale Zion-Left and the resistance movement during World War II, a member of the Jewish Fighting Organization (ŻOB), and a participant in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and the Warsaw Uprising. He was born into a working-class family in the Bałuty district of Łódź in 1908. His father owned a weaving workshop at 24 Pieprzowa Street. Hersz attended cheder and then a public primary school. Yesterday, September 27, a ceremonial commemoration of the 82nd anniversary of the establishment of the Polish Underground State took place at the PPP and AK monument.
