Pnina Grynszpan-Frymer (1923-2016)
A resistance activist during World War II and a heroine of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, she was born the youngest of seven siblings in 1923 in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, where she graduated from a Jewish primary school. Her father, a wagon and horse owner, was a freight transporter. Commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Tykocin massacre
On August 25-26, 1941, German police battalions carried out the so-called Tykocin Massacre – a mass murder of the Jewish population of Tykocin. Nearly 1400 people were murdered within two days. At the 80th anniversary commemoration, organized by the Tykocin Museum, a branch of the Podlasie Museum in Białystok, the Warsaw Ghetto Museum was represented by Dr. Halina Postek, Head of the Education Department.
