Composer, pianist, and arranger. Born on December 5, 1911, in Sosnowiec, he studied piano first under his mother's supervision, and then at the Fryderyk Chopin Conservatory in Warsaw under Józef Śmidowicz, where he also learned the principles of music theory and counterpoint under Michał Biernacki.
