Alina Margolis-Edelman (18/04/1922–22/03/2008)
A doctor and social activist, she actively campaigned for the protection of children in armed conflicts. She was born in Łódź. She came from a family of assimilated Jewish doctors. She was the model for Ala from Marian Falski's "Elementarz," a friend of her parents.
