Leo Belmont (March 8, 1865–October 19, 1941)

Essayist, poet, prose writer, expert in and translator of French and Russian literature, co-founder of the Polish Esperanto Association. Born Leopold Blumenthal, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Russian University of Warsaw. In 1892, he was entered on the list of sworn attorneys in St. Petersburg. During his stay in Russia (until 1904) and in Warsaw, he continued his literary and legal work.
