Visit of the International Auschwitz Council to the MGW construction site

This week, we hosted members of the International Auschwitz Council at the construction site of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum..

On October 20, 2026, the director of the WMG, Dr. Katarzyna Person, guided the IAC delegation through the museum complex being built on the site of the former Bersohn and Bauman Children's Hospital.

For some Council members, this was a return visit to this location after more than four years. During their visit in July 2022, before construction began, guests walked through the empty halls and learned about the vision for the future museum. Today, they were able to see firsthand the vast scope of work completed, including the revitalized main building of the former hospital, the administrative and technical buildings, the future education center, and the impressive basement, which will also house the permanent exhibition.

The visit to our construction site was a prelude to the meeting of the International Auschwitz Council, which took place at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
