The small ghetto through the eyes of a teenager. Walk in the footsteps of Mary Berg
The Warsaw Ghetto Museum invites you to the second Varsavianist walk this year!
This time we will visit the area of the so-called small ghetto described in the “Diary of the Warsaw Ghetto” by Mary Berg – a Polish Jew who lived with her family at 41 Sienna Street during the occupation. Growing up in the Warsaw Ghetto became the main subject of her diary, which was published in the United States in 1945 and is also the first English-language publication about the Warsaw Ghetto. During the upcoming walk we will confront the places described by Mary Berg with the contemporary landscape of Warsaw and consider the specificity of the perception of the Holocaust through the eyes of a teenager.
The walk will take place on Sunday, July 18. It will begin at 12:00 in the courtyard of the former Bersohn and Bauman Hospital in Warsaw (60 Sienna Street). The walk will be led by Agnieszka Kuś, a tourist guide, in Polish. Participation in the event is free of charge.
See you soon!
